The countdown to Christmas is always an exciting time, especially for kids! In the weeks leading up to the big day, schoolwork takes a backseat and the focus shifts to crafting, watching Christmas movies, and, of course, the much-anticipated Christmas dance. The school dance is like the childhood equivalent of an office party—it’s all about letting loose, relaxing, and enjoying quality time with friends before the well-deserved winter break.
Throughout December, Hog Roast Peterhead had the pleasure of attending a number of Christmas dances across Aberdeenshire, bringing festive cheer and, of course, our beloved Festive Menu to the celebrations! But our last school dance of the season? Now, that was the one that truly stood out. The PTA went above and beyond to create a memorable night, ensuring the kids had an amazing time.
The evening was packed with exciting activities: a Santa’s Grotto, face painting, a funny photo booth, glitter tattoos, and even a tombola. There were hair artists working their magic, and a professional DJ spinning tunes that kept everyone on their feet. Some of the older kids even set up a tuck shop, selling sugary treats to fuel the dance floor fun. It was the perfect mix of entertainment, laughter, and joy.
Hog Roast Peterhead was thrilled to be part of this festive event, understanding just how important Christmas parties are to setting the tone for the holiday season. We made sure to bring our A-game when it came to the food, crafting a feast that delighted every guest.
We served up a deliciously succulent slow-roasted turkey, paired with freshly made cranberry sauce and sage and onion stuffing—traditional, comforting, and oh-so-tasty! On the side, we offered a colourful array of options, including cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, glazed seasonal vegetables, and crispy roast potatoes. And, of course, rich homemade gravy brought everything together, making it the perfect festive meal.
Our veggie and vegan options were also a hit, with grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs wrapped in flatbreads and served with creamy tzatziki dip proving to be an irresistible, flavourful turkey alternative.
The food from Hog Roast Peterhead helped fuel the kids for a night of fun, games, and endless memories. Talk about a fantastic way to kickstart the holidays!
