Hog Roast Macduff often find ourselves integral parts of family gathering and special events. Over the years as we get to know our regular clients we really come to look forward to the annual gatherings and getting to catch up with old friends as well as being able to provide them with lovely slow roasted food of course.
Last Friday we were gathering at one such event for the 40th wedding anniversary of Lorel and Pete. The couple had actually been long term customers of ours for over a decade and we had grown to become friends thanks to our presence at almost all of their family gatherings in the last ten years. Our attendance at these events was always down to Pete who is an avid Hog Roast Macduff fan ever since we first cooked up our Hog Roast Macduff rolls for him, he never hesitates to inform up of upcoming events as he tells us ‘any excuse for another hog roast!’.
As this was such a milestone anniversary for the couple, we vowed to do all we could to push the boat out and really make sure they had a lovely day. Lorels daughter, Katie had been in charge of the planning of the party and had asked us to provide our classic Hog Roast Macduff rolls that her father adores. These rolls consist of our slow roasted hog meat, carved delicately into warm slices and placed on awaiting rolls. This is then topped with mouth-watering layers of crispy crackling, a spoonful of our traditional sage and onion stuffing and all finished off with a dollop of our tangy homemade applesauce!
As the party was in full swing our head chef announced that the hog roast was ready for eating and was thanked with a round of applause from the guests. Of course, first in the queue was Pete and we happily served him up and extra-large portion as we again wished him a happy anniversary!
