Sunshine, Highland Cows and Hog Roasts – Summer Is On At Hog Roast Kintore!

Hog Roast KnaresboroughIt looks like the soggy summer spell has finally lifted here in Scotland. And with the sun making a much-welcome return, the phones at Hog Roast Kintore haven’t stopped ringing – customers are lining up (sometimes literally) to get us booked in for their outdoor events.

We absolutely love the enthusiasm you all have for our hog roasts. Getting to be a part of your celebrations -big or small – is something we’re always grateful for, and it’s a job we never take lightly.

Not long ago, we had the chance to bring our hog roast sandwiches to a Highland Games event a little outside our usual patch. And honestly? We had an absolute blast.

The event organisers really went all-out to give their guests an unforgettable experience. From sports tournaments to artisan stalls selling everything from hand-poured candles to fudge, cheese, shortbread, and homemade preserves – plus arm wrestling, Scottish dancing, and live music – there was something to keep everyone smiling.

Our personal highlight of the day had to be the Highland cows. Between the shaggy ginger coats, those massive horns, and more than a bit of swagger, they were absolute showstoppers.

Hog Roast KnaresboroughBut – dare we say it – there was one thing that turned even more heads than the Highland coos: our hog roast. We’re not one to brag, but when it comes to roast pork, Hog Roast Kintore knows exactly what we’re doing. Think melt-in-your-mouth meat, bubbly golden crackling, sage and onion stuffing soaked in all those delicious juices, and a dollop of homemade applesauce – all tucked inside soft, floury gluten-free rolls. If you’ve had it, you know… it really doesn’t get much better.

Once that smell hit the air, the queues formed fast. We moved quickly to serve everyone, throwing in a bit of friendly chat – and even sharing a few trade secrets with the more curious foodies who stopped by.

Now that the weather’s finally heating up (about time!), Hog Roast Kintore is looking ahead to plenty more events over the next few months. And if you’re lucky, you just might spot us at one of them. If you do – come say hi!
