When Alex contacted Hog Roast Aberdeen recently with regards us catering his mum’s 60th birthday, he asked us to cook a traditional centrepiece hog roast that would feed most of the forty guests but he also needed us to provide more options. With a vegetarian guest invited, he asked us to give him ideas of what we could provide, but he also wanted additional food served to all the guests. Vegetarians can be treated to some scrumptious homemade food when we cater, such as a roasted vegetable quiche, stuffed mushrooms or peppers, but Alex decided on our veggie skewers, which are packed full of mushrooms, baby tomatoes, courgette, mixed peppers and red onion, as well as tasty halloumi cheese.
In terms of additional options, we can make multiple courses, add some sides to your main or even serve handmade canapés, and for this party, Alex asked us to put together some garden-fresh salads and make our spicy sweet potato wedges too.
We catered the party over the weekend, where the rain failed to dampen anyone’s spirits. Our chef and catering assistants were protected by our gazebo, which also sheltered our serving tables and hog roast machine and the latter cooked an amazing hog roast that wowed all of the guests on the day, especially the birthday celebrant. We cooked up a feast of pigs in buns from scratch and served them together with the wedges, a tomato and mozzarella salad, our homemade coleslaw and some tasty veggie skewers for the vegetarian guest and by the end of our service, everyone was more than satisfied.
