As a corporate caterer you have to be ready for all kinds of requests each and every day. Often our dining services here at Hog Roast Cookney are put to industry events, or for client meetings, staff lunches and the like. It is not so often that we get to live out a little of our James Bond fantasies and come out to a black-tie, Casino Royale type event with our corporate clients, but when one calls you up asking for formal dining for their casino night at work, you certainly don’t go against the odds and say no!
This week the Hog Roast Cookney were delighted to join our client on their very special casino night. Twice a year this corporate client of ours likes to treat their employees to a special evening or trip as a thanks for their work through the year. One typically comes about halfway through the year, and the other at the end, often with a festive theme to it. We, as a corporate caterer, have often ended up a part of these plans – particularly when it comes to the end of year events as our festive dining slots in perfectly. This year however we are part of the summer event too, and for it our client was putting all their chips out on a one-night casino extravaganza. The management team put the whole thing together, even going as far as to play the roles of the dealers for their staff who were invited to come in their Bond-esque best and pretend to be high rollers for the evening. Of course, no high rolling was actually involved, as the company instead offered out free gambling chips on entry, and a small batch more could be purchased with proceeds being donated to charity.
As for our part, our Hog Roast Cookney team played the role of “floor servers” dishing out canape bites to the gambling patrons, and handing out glasses of champagne to for the “high stakes” game players. Our chefs remained hard at work throughout keeping the fresh canapes coming, and we also had one hog roast for rolls and wraps present as well.
It’s not your typical corporate catering service, but it is one both we and the client massively enjoyed meaning in the end everyone walks away big winners!
