This week we were enlisted to help in the celebrations of Matts 40th birthday. Sara, Matts wife and his two young children were eager to throw a surprise party for Matt as he apparently was notorious for complaining about birthdays. Sara thought that the reason he complained was secretly because he wanted someone to make a fuss of him and no one ever did so this year as it was his 40th they were going to go all out!
We arrived at the family’s home early afternoon to prepare for a 7pm serve time. One thing about Hog Roast Fraserburgh is that we take the time to ensure our food is cooked to perfection and when you are roasting a large piece of meat such as a whole hog, it takes time. Luckily, we were able to set up in the garden under our trusty gazebo and work around Sara and the kids putting up the decorations. They really had gone the extra mile as I don’t think there was anywhere left without either a balloon, banner or glitter!
With Matt due to arrive home from work at 6pm we had enough time to get the food prepared and have the mouth-watering aroma ready to great him as he arrived. The guests had been told to arrive at around 6.30pm to give Matt time to enjoy the surprise with his family first and to sneak a bit of our Hog Roast Fraserburgh before the masses descended.
Matt was beaming when he arrived, and we have to say his family did a wonderful job in pulling the party off! After everyone was satisfied and full, we wrapped the leftovers and discretely packed away leaving all to enjoy the night.
