Hog Roast Garthdee Made Sure This Festival Wedding Was a Hit!

Hog Roast GarthdeeAh, Scotland – land of lochs, legends, and ludicrously unpredictable weather. It’s not unusual to see sun, sleet, wind and a rainbow all within the same hour, which makes planning an outdoor wedding here a bold move. But for Ross and Elena, that risk was all part of the magic.

This festival-daft duo had a vision, and not even the threat of sideways rain could shake it. Their dream? A countryside wedding bursting with festival vibes: a grand sailcloth tent strung with fairy lights, bean bag chill-out zones, wooden dining tables dressed with handmade centrepieces, and colourful bunting dancing in the breeze. To top it all off, guests were encouraged to bring their four-legged companions along – because every good party needs a few tail wags and happy barks.

To match the energy of the day, Hog Roast Garthdee was called in to handle the catering – and we couldn’t have been more excited. As Aberdeenshire’s best and brightest when it comes to outdoor feasting, we arrived early, fired up our grills, and got to work preparing our Southern Slow Roast Menu.

Using expertly pre-marinated cuts, we slow-roasted Cajun-spiced chicken, pulled apart succulent BBQ pork butt, and carved tender Texan beef brisket that had been slow-cooking for hours. For plant-based guests, we served up BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls that delivered just as much smoky flavour and satisfaction.

Hog Roast GarthdeeOn the side, there was buttery corn on the cob, a punchy potato salad with a pickle kick, and a medley of sweet potato and regular fries. With sauces galore, a mountain of fresh rolls and wraps, and plenty of smiles behind the serving table, Hog Roast Garthdee was more than ready for the rush.

And what a rush it was! Guests arrived in high spirits, the sun made a rare and glorious appearance, and we dished up food fast enough to keep up with hungry partygoers. We even spotted a few of the tail-wagging attendees sneaking cheeky bites when no one was watching!

The atmosphere was unbeatable, the couple overjoyed, and the food? Well, let’s just say it went down an absolute storm. Against all odds, Ross and Elena pulled off the outdoor wedding of their dreams – and Hog Roast Garthdee was thrilled to be part of every delicious moment.
