Hog Roast Peterhead would like to wish Paul and his company a happy 25th anniversary! To celebrate Paul had Hog Roast Peterhead’s traditional and expert Hog Roast – delicious!
On the day, the catering manager arrived on site at 10am, ready for a half 12 start. This gave him plenty of time to set up his gazebo, tables and hog roast machine and start the prep. Despite it being slightly breezy, the gazebo stood its ground being tied down and having weights put on the legs to ensure no damage. The table clothes were stretched around the table so that they were not flying about in the wind. To make sure the set up was covid safe, a 2m distance barrier was popped up with the help of Paul and Hog Roast Peterhead set up a sanitising station so that people could sanitise their hands before tucking in to their lunch. With the cooperation of Paul, it was agreed that 10 people at a time would come up to receive their treat so that social distancing could be maintained at all times. The end of a table was used to put the plate so that the delivery was non-contact and completely covid safe. The catering manager had a face mask and used gloves the entire time he was on site.
As the serve time arrived, a very excited first bunch came to indulge in the Hog Roast. The bread basket contains a selection of rolls so that guests can tailor their experience, wraps were a popular choice at this job, perhaps because they were a healthier option after the Christmas period or because you can fit so much more in them! The pulled pork was extremely tender and juicy after being slowly roasted on low heat for 8 hours. The juice that rises in the machine as the pig cooks gets soaked up by catering managers homemade stuffing making the sage and onion accompaniment that much mire tasty and delicious! The crackling had crisped up nicely, which could be heard as the guests took a bite, the sound of the crunch was fantastic. BBQ sauce was a favourite for these guests as well, opting for this choice over the traditional apple sauce.
Many compliments were given by the guests and Paul showed his gratitude with a bottle of wine.
