Reaching an incredible milestone, such as a golden wedding anniversary, is always a reason for celebration- and Janet and Peter’s was no exception. When Janet reached out to Hog Roast Turriff last year about her approaching wedding anniversary, we were happy to do all we could to make sure their event was as perfect as possible!
Janet and Peter got married in 1970. At the time, they could only afford a small function with their closest family and friends, although they were always grateful for everything they had and appreciated every day they got to spend together. To commemorate their golden wedding anniversary, the couple wanted to host a formal party with their friends, family and colleagues, with delicious catering, live music, and dancing into the night! Once we heard what the couple were planning, we got to work straight away on preparing the perfect menu for their event.
The event took place in a marquee, lined with rows of tables, with a huge dancefloor in the centre. The décor was beautiful and timeless, with golden details throughout the venue. Overall, the event looked incredible, and it was the perfect location for us to offer 3 courses of table service, served by our Hog Roast Turriff waiting staff.
As guests arrived, our waiting staff served a selection of canapes, including mini fish and chips, smoked salmon, and mini pizzas. Along with the canapes we also offered a glass of sparkling champagne, which immediately set the level of elegance for the night.
Our main course was a delicious slow-roasted pig, served with your choice of homestyle fries, potato wedges or mac and cheese, as well as a selection of seasonal vegetables and salad options. Everyone loved the main course, and it went down a treat among all of the guests. We finished by serving a selection of desserts, before leaving our guests to enjoy their entertainment for the rest of the evening!
