After an exciting summer on the waves it is that time of year again when the members of a local yacht club crane their boats out for the winter and stay on dry land until spring and they always mark the occasion with a bit of a shindig at their club. Usually, the committee members sort out the catering between themselves, but that means that they always spend most of the night running in and out of the kitchen and miss out on the fun. This year they decided enough was enough and they needed to call in some outside help!
After being recommended by one of the yacht club members who had hired us for an event in the past, they contacted us here at Hog Roast Huntly and asked us to do the honours! They couldn’t wait to try some of our unbeatable slow roasted pork that they had heard so much about from their sailing colleague, especially as it would be served with our trademark hot, crunchy crackling and homemade apple sauce! With it being a party for all the members and their other halves though, they needed a spread that catered for all tastes and diets, so they also asked us to provide some tasty grilled veggie and halloumi skewers, as well as gluten free bread rolls and an array of tempting side salads, including creamy coleslaw, couscous and mac n cheese!
The Hog Roast Huntly crew arrived around lunch time so we could spend the afternoon freshly preparing every part of their delicious menu from scratch at the yacht club whilst our ethically reared pork was being delicately roasted, using our usual high standard of locally sourced produce!
The staff at the club were very impressed with our ability to make everything from scratch on-site and even more impressed after they tasted the food when we served right on time at 7pm! It was a very fun and lively event with live music and of course lots of great food courtesy of the Hog Roast Huntly team! The committee members were very glad they had hired us instead of tackling the catering themselves and they decided they will definitely be hiring us again next year!
